Before going to the school/preschool

Once you have ensured that you have notified the school/preschool of your intended visit and have identified the children in the cohort group you will be screening, send appointment letters to be given to parents of the children being tested that visit, and that you have access to an appropriate screening room.

Before going to the school/preschool, you will need to make sure you have the following:

Hearing retest list
A list of the children you will be screening for each class /pre-school teacher/Early Childhood supervisor who has pupils undertaking screening tests
Hearing schedule

Hearing referral letter (not mandatory and only if the DHB you work within has one)
